Many of us are forced to accept homes in disrepair, while paying sky-high rent. Thousands of households are trapped in temporary homeless accommodation. And not enough social housing means years spent on waiting lists and families having to sofa-surf.
If not ourselves, we all know someone impacted by the housing emergency. The Scottish Government has declared a national housing emergency, but they are not going far enough to ensure everyone has a safe, secure place to call home. But by writing to your MSP and sharing your experience, or the experience of someone you know, you can help pile on the pressure for urgent action to be taken to tackle the housing emergency.
Hearing from those who have experienced housing issues or homelessness shows those in power the impact that our broken and biased housing system is having on people all over the country.
